My first day in United Kingdom

Welcome to my travel blog!
This blog is going to be about me and my adventure when I’m out in the world and discovering new places. My first stop is England. I took an airplane from Arlanda airport 7 o’clock. The flight ticket cost around 2 500 SEK. The plane landed at the Heathrow airport around 10 o’clock, it was actually a good flight, and I slept the whole way, which was the first time ever I think. I took my bag and got out from the full packed airport, I’m not a favorite when it’s about a bunch of people around me. Later on I walked to the car rental next to the airport. I rented a car for four days. It costs me 4 000 SEK,  about 1000/SEK a day.

The first thing I did when I was driving my rented car, was to drive to the hotel where I was going to live for only one night. It was called London Kensington Olympia. A double room for one night costs me 1 400 SEK. Some of you maybe asks why I put down extra money on a double room? Well, here’s your answer. I prefer to sleep in a huge bed. I think it’s worth the money, if you’re glad and rested the morning after when you’re about to discover the country you’re in.

Later on I left the car at the hotel and walked around in the big city, London. The air was lukewarm, and the sun was shining high up in the sky. It was a perfect day to discover the city. My mood was on the top. And my feelings consisted of joy, happiness and exaltation. I jumped on a classic red sightseeing bus; it was a hop-on hop-off bus. The things I saw was: The London Eye, Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus and finally the London Bridge. Of course I sat on the roof of the bus, with the wind in my hair and the sunglasses on and the camera in my hands so I always have this wonderful memory with me. I really recommend you to hop on a sightseeing bus. They really show you the things you want to see, when they also tells you interesting facts.

The sightseeing took a lot of time, 2 hours. So the clock was about 2 o’clock. When I got off the bus I found a little classy café near a park, where I sat down with a cup of coffee for 25 SEK and red my favorite book, The Hunger Games.

Too bad the book kept my occupied at the café for hours.  But soon enough I walked around on the busy streets on the central square, namely Piccadilly Circus. This is one of the most famous places in London. The square was built 1819. Once the square was full of neon advertising, but now it’s only one building that has neon advertising. There also is one famous fountain on the square, named Eros. It was built 1893, and still is a famous tourist attraction.  So there I sat by Eros, eating some Take Away food looking at people who walked by, learning what London is all about. And I learned that it’s an active city but also very conservative. I walked back to the hotel later at night, watched some episodes of the Vampire Diaries and fell asleep with a smile on my lips after a great first day in the exiting United Kingdom.

Assuming all the costs of today, because I have 50 000 SEK to spend here in England for seven days.
