My last hours in United Kingdom (Day number 7)

When the alarm rang on my cellphone I woke up with a jolt.  Liz was already up and I saw her holding two Starbucks coffee’s in her hands, first I was confused why she hadn’t woke me up while she left to buy coffee. But then I understood when I saw her smile, it was because it was our last breakfast together! I enjoyed every little sip of the lovely coffee. But we couldn’t be delighted for such a longer time. I had to drive to the airport right ahead. I didn’t want to leave, there was so much more that I wanted to experience, with Liz, and with Karl! But there was nothing we could do about that. I will come back to United Kingdom one day or another. But carry on; when I dropped of Liz in the city we stood in each other’s arms for a long time. We haven’t known each other long, but it doesn’t really matter, we got to know each other so well on such a short time, but we promised each other to keep in touch. I had to stop on a gas station before I gave back my rented car next to the airport, which costs me 150 SEK. At the airport when all was done, I turned around to smell the last smell of England and look at the beautiful country for the last time for a while. I would miss this place, but the trip couldn’t be any better so the joy was in every piece of my body and it was still there when I landed in Sweden! I have had so much fun in England, and have learned and had the best experience for a long time. These memories from England will stay with me forever, for that I’m sure!

Day number 6 in the U.K.

Hi! How are you today? I’m doing just fine. This day has been long, but funny and exciting. As you know, I slept at Liz and Karl’s place last night. We sat up watching Friends for too long, but who doesn’t love Friends? Today I just have spent time with Liz, and the first thing we did this morning was to take a power walk in the city. We were so proud over us selves when we got back to the apartment. We saw a note on the fridge; it was from Karl saying that he had to go to Oslo for his job. But Liz and I had no problem with that, because of that we actually decided to drive too Nottingham. It took a lot of time to drive the whole way from Liverpool to Nottingham. But we were there around 4 o’clock and we wanted to do some sightseeing so we went to see the Nottingham Castle. Nottingham Castle is the historic heart of the legend Robin Hood and starting point for the English Civil War. The castle commands spectacular views over the city and once rivaled the great castles of Windsor and the Tower of London. So there Liz and I walked around to look at the beautiful castle, it was beautiful.

Later on we brought ourselves to the Sherwood Forest, since we already were on the Robin Hood track, with other words the Sherwood Forest are the legendary home of Robin Hood. The forest is a really inspiring nature, which exists of big oaks that can be up to 500 years old.  In the woods Liz and I walked around, talking, living up the feeling that the wood gave us and took a lot of photos.  Later on we took the car into the city to walk around in the streets, walk in some stores and finally to eat dinner. Which we did at a small and cozy Italian restaurant, we shared on a pizza. The adventure during the day was that we decided to sleep in the car! So here we actually sit in the car (I’m Mobil blogging) on a hidden dirt road. Yes, totally scary but still cozy, because we have lighten up some candles, are wrapped into blankets and are eating candy while we talk about our best memories ever. Some of you may wonder why we actually do this, well to answer your questions I would say: Because it’s something we haven’t done before, it’s exciting and scary and it’s going to be a great memory!

Well now I’m going to talk more with Liz then writing to you! This is the last night in the U.K.! So sad, but as said, it’s been great!

Day number 5 in the U.K.

Hello readers! Its day number five already here in the United Kingdom. So far it’s been great. We woke up at the motel around 12 o’clock, which is late for being me. So we decided instead of a late breakfast we should take a brunch. So we went down to the reception and asked the green eyed lady where the best place for having brunch would be, and she answered us with an happy voice that there was a great breakfast/brunch place just ten minutes’ walk from the motel. So we took ourselves out on a walk in, it’s getting much colder now a days. But the sun was still shining and that’s all that matters, a new shiny day. I haven’t been moving my body for real for five days now so it felt really good to be out and get some fresh air in the lungs. After eleven minutes’ walk, we were there. It was a little white and old house that seemed like a perfect place to have brunch. And so it was, as soon as we walked in the door we could smell the lovely smell of blueberry pancakes. Our stomachs were cooing for full. We sat down and ordered in some new baked scones and three warm cups of tea. When the blueberry pancakes was on the table we started to eat on one second, and we couldn’t stop it either. We just pressed in more and more pancakes, and it was the most delicious pancakes I ever had in my life. After a while, we sat with our jeans buttons open and our hands on our full stomachs. The big question we had in that moment was ‘’what are we supposed to do today?’’.

We all were still much tiered from the yesterday’s activities.  So we brought ourselves to see a movie in the central city. We decided to see the new movie In Time. The movie was about future people where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year. The character Will Salas finds himself accused of murder and are on the run with a hostage - a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system. The movie has been given 6 stars of ten.  It was a very exciting movie and I recommend you to see it! I’m sleeping in Liz and Karl’s guestroom tonight! And were about to keep watching our Friends marathon now, so good night everyone!

The fourth day in United Kingdom

My second day in Liverpool I spend with Karl and Liz. We met up for a breakfast at Starbucks. The weather was much better than yesterdays; the sun was shining through some clouds that was on the blue sky. When we sat new awake in the shining sun with our huge Café Latte’s in our hands, with our sunglasses on and were wrapped in some blankets we felt lukewarm winds blowing us in our faces, that moment we decided what we should do during the day. We decided that we first of all should go to the childhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney (Beatles) because we all are fans of The Beatles, and so we did! It was a combined escorted tour of Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road, which is everyone’s only opportunity to see where the Beatles met, composed and rehearsed many of their earliest songs. It was an interesting tour and I really enjoyed it, because it really is the only opportunity for a person to be in their old homes, so it was pretty special experience for me Karl and Liz. To visit the childhood home costs me 200 SEK. We had packed my rented car full of different kind of food and candy so we could explore the city how much we wanted the whole day. 

 The next stop became St. George’s Hall. St George’s Hall is a big building, which contains concerts and law courts. St. George’s Hall is in the middle of Liverpool at Lime Street. On the west side of the building there is St. John’s Garden, where we sat down in the grass and had picnic. While we were eating our delicious lunch we decided that the next stop we would be The Merseyside Maritime Museum. It’s a museum that tells the history of one of the world's greatest ports. Discover Liverpool's central role in centuries at sea as the gateway to the new world, how the Titanic, Lusitania and Empress of Ireland tragedies affected the city and the country provided a lifeline in times of war and peace. The museum is located at The Albert Dock. Since we had done so much during the day we decided that should cool it down but still make it as an adventure. And now after, I can tell you we really did. We drove and drove my rented car, but we had no idea where we were or where we should go, so we just kept on driving. We took some stops on the way; during the stops we made a lot of different experiences. The best of them was when we stopped at a restaurant and we ordered in two hamburgers for each one of us, we decided to have a competition; the competition was to eat up the hamburgers fastest. Karl won. Another funny competition we arranged was to stand by the road and having your thumb up for a sign that means ‘’needs ride’’, the competition was to see which one of us who made the most car stop. Liz won that competition. While we kept on driving we saw a classic movie motel, so we couldn’t help ourselves while we checked in. In the motel room for three persons we watched Friends with a lot of candy in our hands. And that was basically what we did the entire evening. But I had to win a competition as well, right? So I arranged a competition too, to win you had to scream out the right name of the company during the advertise pauses. And I actually won, I’m proud over my obsession of watching TV. The whole day has been lovely, and now the clock is saying 2 o’clock and we are ready for bed! I’m sure that I will sleep well this night; to be spending so much time with those interesting and funny people can’t make me happier!

The Merseyside Maritime Museum 

Day number 3 in the U.K.

I woke up on the third day in the United Kingdom. How does the time just running out of my hands? That’s why I always want to capture the day right ahead, so I usually take the day with a storm. But this morning was different; when the alarm on my cellphone rang my eyes just wouldn’t open! So I slept one hour more than I had planned. When I suddenly was awake for real this time, I brought myself down to the Diner room to get some coffee. Later on, I checked out from the hotel and was driving my car from Warwickshire to the next stop which was Liverpool.

When I finally was there, I walked down the streets in the interesting city. I was about to shop, but then a tiny but tall girl with blonde straight hair stopped me when I was about to try a couple of boots. She just took the boots out of my hands, grabbed my hand and dragged me into a corner. I couldn’t decide if I was supposed to be scared, but I just stood there. Didn’t say a word, and she just smiled. I think we stood like that for one whole minute. But then she said; 

- This store sucks. You are a tourist right? Then I should show you the best shops and restaurants in town. I had a feeling that you should be interested. Are you?
I said yes, and then we were out in the streets walking under a sky full packed of grey clouds. I got to know this girl. Her name is Liz, as old as me, 18 years old and is from Denmark. And I really like this girl; she’s funny and is a very positive person. Liz works at an event company here in Liverpool; she has been working there for two years now. And she told me a lot about her life here in Liverpool, she lives in a big apartment with her boyfriend named Karl, they met on a bar for six months ago. My picture of Liverpool is now a town with a lot of big companies but also a very cozy town with small hidden streets, with even smaller stores and pub’s.  But carry on; she wanted to show me the real city. (Liz have lived here for 2 years now) And she really did. She took me to streets that nobody knew about and of course there all the good things  low. We walked into stores and stores. And as you probably understand, it became a lot of shopping, but there was such a good price on everything, so I don’t have any anxiety. But there we walked in the hidden streets laughing, happy to have someone to spend the day with, and the hands full of shopping bags. It was like a paradise. All of sudden it started to pour down, from every direction. So Liz and I ran into a café were we sat and hoped to get dry while we took a cup of tea. Later on I told Liz that I wanted to go to the unique Beatles –themed museum. And so we did. I was over thrilled that we went to the museum, because it was perfect. I really recommend you to visit this museum. It was interesting, cool and wasn’t like any other museum I’ve been to. To visit the museum costs me 150 SEK.

 When we were done at the museum Liz invited me to her place to meet Karl. And I couldn’t say no, I’ve missed spending time with people since I got here. So at their apartment we ate food, had music quiz and got to learn each other. I took a cab to the Atlantic Tower Hotel there I had booked a room for two nights. A supremely nice room for such a good cost, two nights cost me 1400. So now I’m about to watch the last episode of Vampire Diaries of this season, so excited, hope you all are doing well! I will write a post tomorrow night!
